Door Lock Upgrades
Your existing door may be fitted with an old style euro cylinder which can be attacked from a number of different ways.
Click on the VECTIS logo below and see just how!
Plug Extraction.
A would be burglar inserts a screw into the cylinder and using a claw hammer, applies pressure that snaps the cylinder at it‘s weakest point, allowing it to be removed and then a simple wiggle of a screw driver, the door is open. This attack takes less than 1minute and 7 seconds!
Cylinder Snapping.
The burglar forcefully removes the outer handle using a crow bar and then with a pair of grips, snaps the cylinder at the weakest point, again with the wiggle of a screw driver, the door is opened. This attack takes about 2 minutes.
Cylinder Bumping.
The most scariest of them all. A burglar uses a bump key and inserts it into the cylinder, the tapping of the key whilst applying slight pressure, overcomes the locking pins without damaging the cylinder. Allowing the key to unlock the door. When the burglar is finished he can lock the door using the key on the way out. You will not know he has even been inside until you find your effects missing. Insurance companies have apparently refused to pay out in some instances! This attack takes less than 19 seconds!
The anti bump cylinder addresses all the above attacks and can be supplied and fitted to your existing door, from as little as £135.00.
